See The Impact In Their Words
Each week we receive letters and emails from the children that we work with, their parents, and the schools and bases we assist. We are sharing them here with you so that you can see the real impact of CCMK and your partnership with us.

I was so happy to see you at the school today because you made us think and then you made us laugh and I forgot for a while that I was feeling a lot of hurt about the deployment.

Kelsey

Great explanations for TBI, physical vs emotional injuries. We loved how the kids gained pride in selves and in parent's sacrifices.

School Outreach Coordinator

I wrote my ideas down in my journal and my dad read it and you know what he cried. And when he cried I knew that he cared and I felt better to know that he got his feelings back and I got my dad back. Thank you for the USO and your helping.

Delissa

Thank you for doing this for our kids; they are often overlooked in the whole process of reintegration after injury and deployment. It affects them more than people actually realize, giving up so much time with their loved ones and upon return, and dealing with issues no child should ever have to deal with. It was not their choice, but nobody asked them!

Military Spouse

I've had about ten people that I really love pass away...(b)ut your care package has really helped me with all the crying.

Caitlyn

It is Saturday and I have received one of the ‘With You All The Way’ kits, and cannot say in words how it may just be one of the very best ways to express our child's feelings. There is an 8-year-old boy of a deploying Sailor whom this is for and his name is “Sam”. Sam got this box from me today and read the first couple of pages of the journal and began to cry. When I asked him why he was crying, he stated to me that the book said things he could not. If there is no better use than that, we have won the battle.

Soldier

I am delighted to share that the kit was given to a child today. Staff, trainers, mom and child could not be happier!

Military Family Life Counselor

Thank you very much for making that memory box. The USO gave us the Grief Kit after my stepdad died in Afghanistan. My little brother was crying all the time. I put lots of good pictures and notes in it. I love that mouse doll too. That was a good thing for that box.
