With You All the Way! Preps Military Kids for New School Year with Pump-it-Up Back to School Pep Rally

The Comfort Crew was honored to be asked by the USO and P&G to create The Pump-It-Up Back to School Pep Rally for military kids. September 1-10, the Pep Rally visited 5 locations: Camp Pendleton CA, JBLM WA, Fort Meade MD, Naval Station Norfolk VA, and Naval Air Station Jacksonville FL.

The Pump-it-Up Back to School Pep Rally for Military Kids prepared students ages five to 12 for the upcoming school year. The one-hour interactive show provided strategies for better study habits, increased student’s desire to learn, and provided life skills in an upbeat and entertaining way. Students left energized about the school year and feeling happier, healthier, and more confident.

The Pump-it-Up Back to School Pep Rally introduced a new CCMK performer, Julie Frost as she joined Trevor Romain. Together, Trevor and Julie welcomed students back to school and provided them strategies for a successful school year.  The show opened with the new upbeat theme song written and performed by Julie, Pump-it-Up, included personal stories from Trevor and Julie along with animated video clips to which kids could relate, and ended with a question and answer session.

Each student left with a gift – a USO sling bag containing a journal and colored pencils donated by P&G.

Meet the Performers:

Trevor Romain, a motivational speaker and best-selling children’s author and illustrator, has spoken to over 150,000 military kids on the USO With You All the Way! Tour, teaching them real life lessons, such as dealing with bullies, facing fears, coping with divorce, and understanding grief. As an inspirational humorist, Trevor and his animated friends host a popular television series that has been featured on a number of PBS stations. Trevor is a co-founder of the Comfort Crew for Military Kids and started The Trevor Romain Company, a children’s educational publishing company.

Julie Frost is a professional singer, dancer, actress and business professional with experience that ranges from starring roles on the Walt Disney World Stages to serving as the sole coordinator of a NATO conference in Eastern Europe. Julie is the daughter of an Air Force Colonel and is able to relate to opportunities and challenges of growing up in a military family.
