A Letter From Camp Corral

by comfortcrewmk on August 15, 2014

The Comfort Crew is proud to have partnered with our friends at the USO and Camp Corral to provide over 3,000 of our Comfort Kits to campers across the country this summer. Camp Corral serves the children of our brave military service members who have been injured or fallen protecting our freedom.

As camp winds down and school starts back for so many, we wanted to share a letter we received from a parent of a Camp Corral camper who had received a Taking Care of You! Support for Kids of Injured Heroes Kit:

I wanted to take a moment to write a thank you note. I got my daughters back this morning from camp & they were gushing all the details of how fun & exciting camp was!

When we were signing out, they got a box. We had a 3+ hour drive so I read the book on the way home. I have to say thank you because as soon as we got home, my younger daughter was full of questions about our service connected disabilities. My daughter had a working knowledge of traumatic brain injury & post traumatic stress. We never knew how to explain to them what was wrong. I know camp taught them about it & for that I can’t send enough thanks. Camp & the boxes opened the door for that hard conversation but prepared me to handle it & them too. Words can’t express how grateful we are.
