Remarks by Second Lady Karen Pence to Military Spouses

September 21, 2018

“Isn’t he cute? His name is Cuzzie. But we also have, inside the box, a journal, a guide for families, postcards, suggestions for ways to stay connected while that family member is deployed. And it’s just a little something that we can do. Last week we had about 30 spouses of congressmen come to the Vice President’s Residence — bipartisan — and we assembled 500 of these boxes, and we brought them all with us here to Fort Carson. (Applause.) Those spouses packed each kit with care and respect for the sacrifices that military families make. And later today, it will be my honor to give these out to those children. Second Lady Karen Pence Delivers Deployment Kits at Fort Carson

September 14, 2018

The best part of this project was seeing the faces of the kids who received one of our Deployment Kits from Mrs. Pence yesterday. Last week, Mrs. Pence and the Congressional Club worked together to pack 500 With You All the Way! Dealing With Deployment Kits for military kids who currently have a parent deployed. Yesterday, Mrs. Pence and our nation’s senior military spouses delivered the kits to military kids at Fort Carson. Before Mrs. Pence delivered our Comfort Kits, she shared her support in a speech to military spouses and offered words of encouragement. You can view that speech as well as see her interview with Cuzzie on Fox & Friends at https://www.facebook.com/thecomfortcrew.

Service Project with Mrs. Pence was a Big Success

September 7, 2018

Second Lady Karen Pence and over 20 members of the Congressional Club may have set a fastest time record for packing 500 Deployment Kits. We had a lot of people working together to make sure this project was a success. Thanks to Mrs. Pence for being such a gracious host, her staff for all their hard work, and the Congressional Club who jumped right in to help support military families. We could not have done it without our sponsors, Veterans United Foundation, The Barry Robinson Center, ABC Bank, and The GBS Group. You can see more photos at CCMK Facebook. Check back next week as Mrs. Pence heads to Colorado Springs to deliver the Deployment Kits to military kids at Fort Carson, CO.
